Compare monthly and yearly Bali villa rentals with a clear view of payment timing, inclusions, deposits, flexibility and total commitment.

The short answer
A monthly quote and a yearly quote are different offers. Compare total commitment, payment timing, included services and flexibility; dividing a yearly price by twelve does not create a monthly payment option.
Separate price from payment timing
A yearly amount can be divided by twelve to help compare costs, but that calculation says nothing about when payment is due. Ask for the actual instalment schedule and deposit requirements. Do not assume that a yearly listing can be booked for one month or that an annual payment can be spread across the year.
Likewise, a monthly listing does not automatically offer a renewal at the same rate. Confirm the dates, minimum stay and any extension terms. If your plans are still evolving, the value of flexibility may outweigh an apparently lower annual equivalent.
Compare what the quote covers
Make one list of recurring items for both offers: electricity, water, internet, cleaning, pool care, garden care and any other services you expect. Mark each as included, separate or not yet confirmed. Ask how separate bills are measured and paid, and which party arranges routine services.
Do the same for the move-in and move-out stages. Clarify the deposit conditions, inventory, condition record and responsibility for damage or repairs. An attractive headline price is not enough information to calculate the real commitment.
Keep the decision reversible where possible
If you have not experienced the neighbourhood, consider whether a shorter initial stay would help you decide. That is a planning option, not a promise that an owner will offer it. Ask before relying on an extension, a trial period or an early-exit arrangement.
Read the agreement before transferring funds and resolve discrepancies between the listing, messages and contract. Where terms are unclear or the commitment is significant, obtain independent qualified advice. Confirm that your intended stay and activities fit the immigration permission relevant to you; a rental agreement does not replace it.
